Canada Day in Cypress Hills

Hello, everyone! I'm excited to share another one of my adventures with you. During the Canada Day weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to celebrate at Cypress Hills Centre Block. Let me tell you, this place is absolutely breathtaking!

I brought my two best friends along to experience the beauty of this interprovincial park and to show them a bit of my work. We set out early in the morning, and it seemed like the entire world had the same idea. The campgrounds were packed! Fortunately, we had booked our spots in advance on the SaskParks website. We chose to stay at two different campgrounds over the weekend: Warlodge and Deer Hollow.

This summer has been filled with camping adventures for me—I've already pitched my tent at five different sites. Each one offers a unique view and new people. This time, my friends and I attended a triathlon event. To our surprise, it was designed specifically for kids. I initially wanted to participate, but the wonderful parks crew explained that the event had special rules tailored for children. Nevertheless, I enjoyed taking pictures and chatting with the staff about their summer experiences at Cypress Hills. They shared how much they loved spending their summer in the forest, working in tourism.

Later in the day, we visited Cypress Hills Segways to learn about their tours. Talking to the owners, it was clear they were passionate about their work. They weren’t just running a business—they genuinely loved what they did. Their friendliness and enthusiasm were infectious, making us feel welcome and appreciated. This experience left a lasting impression on us.

We also spent some time at the pool, soaking up the sun and enjoying the warm water. There’s something magical about lounging by the pool in the forest. Everyone around was having a blast, laughing, talking, and simply enjoying the moment.

If you’re still unsure about your plans for the next Canada Day, I highly recommend booking a spot at one of the charming campgrounds in Cypress Hills. It’s a fantastic way to experience a different side of Canada right in Saskatchewan.

P.S. One of the highlights of the day was seeing a massive flag, 10 meters wide and 5 meters tall, waving proudly. Another memorable moment was playing at the golf course, where I missed around 50 shots. Even though I’m a basketball player, my friends now joke that I’m no longer a shooter! But hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right? Next time, I promise to do better!

Until next time, happy camping and exploring!
