If you are following us on Instagram, you have probably seen that we have a new team member on board.  We are thrilled to have Alex with us for the summer and we are excited to see what he creates and to watch him discover Cypress Hills-Grasslands Destination Area.

Here are some words from Alex, himself, as he starts this journey.

First of all, I’d like to say that it is a dream come true to be a part of the CGDA team, and all of my coworkers and business partners have been incredibly welcoming. This experience so far has been exactly what I needed, not only to kickstart my career in media, but also to have more fun in a “work environment” than I could imagine. I have lived on a ranch southwest of Gull Lake my whole life, and became a patron of local tourism at a very early age. I enjoy hunting, fishing, snowboarding and dirt biking. I graduated from Gull Lake High School in 2021 as Valedictorian, and continued my education at University of Regina. I have just completed my first year in the pre-professional journalism program.

 Being given the opportunity to have a job in the media in southwest Saskatchewan is amazing, and it is with great enthusiasm I take this chance to represent our partners to the best of my ability. So far, I have  met with many of our partners, and I am excited to meet with the rest of them and to share their stories with the public. I have already been able to travel all over the Cypress-Grasslands Area, and it has opened up the province in ways I have never experienced. It seems each town I visit has its own unique charm and community, and is shaped by our partners and participants alike.
