While manning a booth at the season opening of Leader’s Sandhills Credit Union Marketplace, I decided to set up a question box to start some conversations about all of the great things to do and see in southwest Saskatchewan.

I often joke about how not many people want to talk on camera for me and have to say that it was much easier to get written responses!  Even the kids shared their ideas! Here are the 2 questions I posted and the replies.

What do you love about Southwest Saskatchewan?

  • The people x 2
  • The variety of scenery
  • The crops blowing in the wind
  • The landscape
  • The horizon
  • The clouds
  • Cold winters
  • Hot summers
  • All of the hidden gems that no one knows about
  • Riding horses
  • River floating on tubes
  • There is lots to see because nothing is in the way. The only thing more beautiful than the breathtaking landscapes are the amazing people who make up the community.  Life is just better here!

What would you tell a tourist to do while visiting CGDA?

  • Cypress Hills Camping
  • The Great Sandhills  x 4
  • Toboggan down the sandhills
  • Market Square in Swift Current
  • Fort Walsh x 2
  • Hike Cypress Hills
  • Camping in Val Marie
  • Hiking in Grasslands National Park

It was a beautiful night for the first market of the season.  We enjoyed live music, local food and drink, and shopping from the various vendors.Thank you to everyone who grabbed an Insider’s Guide and for sharing your love of southwest Saskatchewan and our destination area.  You can view our Insider's Guide here.
